With the calendar having been finalized, there isn't much left that our group needs to accomplish before this project comes to an end. We need to print and follow through with delivery, record responses and see if it needs done again, but aside from this, we are just about to complete this years work. I am looking forward to seeing if all this will pay off and if anyone will at least show some satisfaction - but a part of me is also scared, knowing people for who they are, that we may be quickly rejected. I am hoping that they will except it as something new to look on and possibly adapt as a hobby - for cooking is both productive and well worth the time if you enjoy it. Given that there is passion for cooking lying within our group, greatly with Alex and even more so with Sam, you can see where the inspiration came from. We will be informing you with the details of delivery next week, and hope we have nothing but good things to report.

Hey everybody! Last week we ended up being able to finalize the calendar as previously mentioned, but delivery has been a struggle with activities outside of school including sports, and natural events like the weather, having kept us from being able to deliver these. We will hopefully be printing them as soon as possible, and delivering them in good time to be able to find out if these deliverables would be wanted once again by the people in the retiree homes near the arboretum in Bethalto. If memory and the people allow, we are also hoping to be able to get plenty of pictures of us delivering these for further explanation in the end project presentation. This has been the goal we've been working towards all year, and we are just about to reach the time in which we will enact on all the planning. We are looking forward to this trip, and will update you more on this after we go!
Hey everybody! The past week has been an interesting one, trying to decide what platform would be the best to use to try and spread the word about our project. Having finally mapped out what we'd like to do and actually being able to pursue it this time, we'll be visiting a neighborhood inhabited only by retirees, and recording the initial reactions we get for passing out the calendars. Hoping and predicting they'll be positive reactions, we look forward to passing out the calendars to see if we can maybe brighten up their day with a bit of a change. We're probably going to end up establishing an account on Instagram, so if you're reading this, please stay tuned to these updates to get the username of the account! Also, Alex, another person in our group, is still in clear contact with us despite having moved classes. We should be able to get together after having printed the calendars soon, and if we can things done, we'll be updating you on the initial reaction of the retirees next week.
This week we're really focusing on reaching out to the community, hoping to amass some more followers or supports to track along with the progression of our project, if people find interest in what we're doing for the community. I am just about to complete the work for which I will be publishing next week or so, hopefully, and being able to deliver it to the people in the homes near the Bethalto Arboretum. If everything goes well, it'll be delivered, and I'll take note of how some of the people respond to us hand delivering them door to door, to ultimately decide if this will be the way to go. I'm hoping that this will bring a little bit of happiness and surprise to everyone's day there, and that they can make something out of it to have a little bit more to do with their time. While they lives of relaxation in retirement, a little bit of change is nearly never wrong.
As of recent, we haven't updated our blogs due to a rather long time that we had off for a winter break, with the addition of a couple snow days and other side project. At the time being, we are looking for a way to repurpose our project as we are still at the brick wall of sorts that is waiting for someone to actually be able to speak with us about whether or not we can even do the project at the Villa Rose home. As for right now, that will stay under wraps until we are for sure about what we are going to do as far as that goes, and just let you know about what we have accomplished. I have repurposed the calendar around three times now, completely, as we have been unable to publish them to the home. There has been no real progress as of late, but we are hoping that the new idea will be able to bring the aspirations and hopes that our original plan carried, and give them a new purpose. We hope you stick with us through the transition, and that you had a happy new year!
This week has been very unsatisfactory in the sense of accomplishing the tasks which are necessary to tackle to be able to achieve our goals. While I have been crafting the calendars, I have contemplated the values of our project all together. I believe that we will stick with the idea, but to be completely honest, I was struggling with seeing the point to the project. While it doesn't have a huge effect on the general public, I have came to the conclusion that it's still doing good for what it is. Our team has still failed to contact to even get the O.K. on the project, which is a huge disappointment to hear as I know, but that's just how it is. Our team has also recently had to create an elevator pitch, as for a short explanation that we can give people if they have any, or to aspire some, interest in our project. I appreciate your time for reading this update, and I hope that anyone that may be reading this for reference or possibly inspiration to their own project, may check in for further updates.
Recently, we have been making efforts to contact the manager or someone else who is in charge of of the home, but to no avail. Later today, our team member Alex will be attempting to reach out to them again. We are also currently working on the calendar itself, and we have decided that there will be a page with short descriptions of what each idea entails. We are struggling to see the original vision we had, and are trying to find another way to successfully pull off the project without straying to far from what we were inspired by. The short videos and graphics previously mentioned are also popping up to be more difficult to manage than we previously thought, so we are still trying to find our way on what we're doing. It's a little late for this, but we are still acting on the project while we are figuring out how it will be operated in the further stretch of things.
This week we have started working on getting the recipes for the calendar together that we will be delivering later on this month, hopefully by the date that we currently have set up for us, which I believe is the twenty sixth. We also still need to make an effort to reach out the home and contact them to make sure we can even do anything, which we already really should have done but have not gotten to. Our team member Alex will be reaching out since he has someone in the home and is familiar with some of the people there, so it'd just be better for him to contact them. If we do get to proceed with the project, we will be using Microsoft programs and school supplies and printers to be able to produce the products that we will be delivering, which is the calendar and then an attached paper with some more details.
Due to a misunderstanding of how we were to conduct the project in the first place, I was missing a blog in this place. Moving back, I see that this'd be a perfect time to discuss the general motivation of why we are doing what we are doing. A group member of ours, Alex, has a grandmother in the home at the time being. She has told him a couple of the times that the food isn't extremely pleasant, and so we want to do something about that. While we really aren't doing that much, I still think that it'd be good to throw some ideas out there that are a little unique, that they may enjoy. it's nothing huge or extreme, but still poses a good cause. In general, I didn't really see any problems on the large scale of things, so I figured that it'd be a good project.
Hello, my name is Clint. My team, which includes two friends of mine named Alex and Sam and I have noticed that the people of the Villa Rose home are receiving food that doesn't satisfy them. The people at Villa Rose are supplied the normal three main meals a day, so the majority of the recipes we bring to the table will probably be more snack-like foods. Each month we want to release 'Cooking Calendars', which are just calendars with a recipe for each day of the month, to the residents of Villa Rose. This will teach the residents how to prepare food, if not just give them some ideas of what they can prepare. The quality of the food served at Villa Rose matters personally to a member of our team, Alex, as his grandma is currently residing there; so, we figured we would try and do something about it. Our team is still working out the details, but we are hoping that we can manage to make it crowdfunded. This funding will actually be key, as we are planning on covering the costs of the supplies that are necessary for the residents to prepare the food, and delivering it to them. But, again, we still have a lot to do - we need to crunch the numbers for residents, contact the people who run the home, and manage how we will raise the funds, as well as how we will deliver the calendars and various supplies to the people of Villa Rose. Currently, we are still mapping out the general plan of our project, so if you're interested you can check back weekly to see the progress of our project!
